Seoul Residency
BIG FAN, in partnership with Asia New Zealand Foundation Te Whītau Tūhono and CJ Cultural Foundation (South Korea), is offering a New Zealand-based band or artist who perform with a band, the opportunity to travel to Seoul, South Korea to record and perform at CJ Azit. With the support of CJ Cultural Foundation, they will also have access to tailored networking and engagement with the local music community.

WHO SHOULD APPLY
We’re seeking an Aotearoa-based indie band or artist with original material. You should be:
• Working across genres such as indie rock, alt-pop, dream pop, folk, or lo-fi. For reference, explore playlists such as Indie Korea or The Black Skirts Radio on Spotify.
• Actively writing, recording, or performing original music
• Open to creative exchange and new cultural experiences
• Able to represent Aotearoa professionally on an international stage
WHAT’S ON OFFER
Selected band or artist (up to four members) will receive:
- Return economy flights to Seoul from a main New Zealand city
- Shared accommodation for full residency dates
- Access to the recording studio at CJ Azit for selected days
- Performance opportunity at CJ Azit with a local headliner
- Local support and networking opportunities with Seoul’s music community
- Travel insurance cost (excluding any excess)
- C-4 Short-Term Employment Visa application cost
- Contribution towards transport, food and entertainment
