NEW FANS

New Fans is a new all-ages show series designed to grow and connect the next generation of audiences and crew in Tāmaki Makaurau. Across four bi-monthly, low-cost, all-ages shows throughout 2026, the series creates real opportunities for rangatahi to experience live music in a safe, welcoming environment. The series is all about removing barriers for enjoying live music such as age restrictions, cost, and lack of representation, while building a stronger culture of going to and supporting local shows.

At the heart of New Fans is a commitment to rangatahi at every touch point. Each show is led by a young promoter, ensuring the line-ups, promotion, and overall experience are shaped for young audiences. Alongside performance opportunities for emerging artists, the series also creates paid roles behind the scenes, giving rangatahi hands-on work experience.

New Fans is about building the future of live music in Aotearoa – not just the artists on stage, but also the people who attend, support, and make it all happen.
